2/17/2012 Jordan Heeter LaCrosse, WI USA 11:35(ish) pm central time 7-8 seconds NW to SE Bright blue ball with very long bright blue tail;a hint of orange at the tip of tail As bright as Venus Didn't notice;wasn't looking for The most exciting atmospheric event I've yet seen!

17FEB20012 Alyce Dolphin Cascade, IA 11:25 Central Time about 3 seconds. NNE falling nearly straight down Green like a large planet falling down about twice the brightness as Venus No and without a tail. Almost looked like a large falling firework. I saw it from inside the house while looking out the window and it was easily seen through branches of a large tree behind the garage. It fell fairly quickly, but not fast. Like it was a green planet that glided down. I could only see it from the top of the window, about 45 degrees up in the sky and for about 4 fingers down at arms length to behind the garage roof. I have seen only a couple of other shooting stars that same size and color, but usually with a streak. This one was a bit slower with no streak.
