Initial Meteor Sighting Reports-
12JAN2014 Cheron Fitzgerald Champaign, IL 21:20 CST, PM 1-1.5 sec S-N, facing N (came from behind me) White, slightly greenish Slightly brighter than Sirius none disappeared behind rooftop. Apparent size about that of sirius. Moon near full. No clouds in that part of the sky.

12JAN2014 Brian Winking Quincy, Illinois, U.S.A. 9:19 PM CST 10 sec N-N-E Bright white sun no / short tail let the dog out, was looking up at how clear the sky is, saw bright meteor / fireball

12JAN2014 Jim Todd Crawfordsville, IN USA 22:20 EST About 2 seconds. Started about N-W and headed slightly downward towards NN-W while I was facing N-W. It was about 40° up and came down 5° before fading out. Mostly white with bluish-green edges. No sound noticed. As bright as Venus but larger. Two similar sized pieces gapped by half of one's size. There were 3 tiny fragments just ahead of the front one. The two larger pieces were probably 4-5 times larger than Venus.
