Burbank, California Meteor between 7-8pm PST 25NOV2011
I was on the highway, and the streak was over the mountains in the north. Lasted about a second - a very short orange, fiery streak before it burned up. Not too bright.- Bella Thank you Bella!

I saw a large shooting star on Nov. 25, 2011, somewhere around 12:52 a.m.. I was riding in a car on a country road somewhere around Coloma, Michigan. It was brighter than Jupiter, orange, and had a tail that was the same color. It lasted about a second at the most. I can't say for sure exactly where in the sky I saw it; my guess is it was either somewhere below the constellation Orion or in an area below-left of it, and moved away to its left. -Alex K. Thank you Alex!

Nashville, TN Meteor ~11:55pm 25NOV2011
I live in Nashville, TN - not sure exactly the time, but approx. midnight November 25, 2011 an incredibly bright blue/green meteor appeared on the northern horizon moving from east southeast to west northwest - a long tail glowing blueish appeared to hit the ionoshpere and illuminate a giant aurora appearing as if passing through an overcast sky - but the sky was clear - approx. 1.5 seconds total - the entry created giant greenish glow covering an area equal to a dinner plate held at arms length - i've never seen anything this bright or as huge! - it literally made the entire sky glow blue/green for an instant! - if not looking directly at object it would have appeared as if a green roman candle had gone off nearby...very shocking indeed -jeff hall Thank you Jeff!

North Carolina Meteor 25NOV2011
Greensboro, North Carolina Meteor 1:20 am 25NOV2011
I was talking on the phone around 1:20 AM Nov 25 (Friday morning) and looked up to catch a bright, red, fiery thing falling. I was looking NorthEast at an angle of about 45 degrees, and the thing seemed to be falling slightly, but mostly moving from left to right. I don't know much about astronomy, so I don't know if it was a shooting star, but it didn't really look like one, since it was so red and the "star" part was bigger than I would expect. I hope this helps, and I would really like to know what exactly I saw that night. Thanks, Vivek Chavda Thank you Vivek!
Greenville, North Carolina
We were heading home from a Thanksgiving Party when we saw what I thought a shooting star. It was a big white ball of light with a tail. It was huge compare to what I've ever seen before. It flashed and dissipated long enough for me to make a wish, about 3-5 seconds. We lived in Greenville North Carolina and we're heading north when we saw it. The exact time and date was Novermber 24, 2011 at 1:30 am Eastern time. We saw it on 11/25 at 1:34 AM. The size was about 10 times the size of the Northern star on a clear night as viewed from the south eastern US. When we saw it I immediately identified it as a meteor or asteroid due to size and length of time it crossed the sky. The arc suggested it passed between the earth and moon's orbit. I have seen dozens of shooting stars and this is by far the largest and most spectacular event I have witnessed. If it had hit the earth it would have made a global event - guessing of course. Virna, my son Cameron and I were in awe and discussed it for some time. Thank you. Randy and Virna Thank you all!

Port Saint Lucie, Florida Meteor 24NOV2011
Port Saint Lucie, Florida Meteor 11:45pm EST 24NOV2011
Hi there, this is my very first time doing this and so I don’t know what to say other then, I saw a last night November 24th 2011 a huge meteor and I have never seen anything like it! It was huge going across the sky and it was big not so bright but there were a lot of clouds. It looked as though it was in the atmosphere not in space and it coming down, looked as though it was going to crash into the ground if that makes any sense.. It has a huge tail... I have only ever seen shooting starts and small ones that are way high up and have a tail but not a huge one like this one had.. I have to admit I am a little freaked out, from what I have read people seem to have seen really big ones that look like what I have described in these past few weeks.. I guess I watch to many movies about meteor's and comets putting the world to an end and that the president knows and wont tell is because of panic.. Thank you for letting me share. freaking out in Florida, -Tonya

Noticed a small dimly lit but discernable to naked eye, object traveling slowly from east towards west. At first I thought it was a satellite, then it accelerated towards the western horizon through Cygnus at a VERY high rate of speed! The object never illuminated any brighter and did not have a tail/plasma. Bolide? Near Earth Object? -DLT Thank you!

Belleville, Ontario, Canada Bolide Meteor 24NOV2011
Belleville, Ontario, Canada Bolide Meteor 02:30 am 24NOV2011
I saw this bolide on November 24th, 2011 at 0230 exactly.
I was in the City of Belleville in Ontario, Canada. At the time of the sighting I was traveling northbound on Sidney Street in a car, so I am unsure if there had been any noises or sounds during the sighting.
I have seen quite a few bolides before, as I work nights and am in a car driving all around constantly, but this one was quite alarming as it seemed to be traveling faster than any I have seen before. It was about 30-40 degrees above the horizon directly in front of me as I traveled straight north. The bolide started out at the top left of my view, it remained as what looked like a plane in the sky, a small-ish dot, but larger than a normal plane (Belleville is located 15 minutes away from Trenton, Ontario where our major air base is, there are all kinds of military aircrafts in the air all the time.). I for about half of it's travel distance it remained a tiny, bright light that slowly grew brighter before it burst into a bright cobalt blue shade and seemed to break into at least three, if not five pieces.
The entire thing may have lasted five or eight seconds, it was over quite quickly, though I have seen bolides burn out much quicker than this one did.
As for brightness, while it was still tiny and looked like a plane, it was as bright, or possibly a tiny bit brighter than Venus, but it seemed to lose a lot of the brightness after the initial combustion into the blue flames.
I was unable to take video or pictures of this, though I would suggest looking into the sky cameras Ottawa's Colleges have. I have seen many bolides around Belleville, and they are always captured on the cameras the universities use for study.
All in all, it was pretty darn cool! Forgot to make a wish though, rats. -Emily Thank you Emily!

Western Queensland, Australia Bolide Meteor? 23NOV2011
Western Queensland, Australia Bolide Meteor? 0450 Local Queensland Time 23NOV2011
I was airborne flying over Western Queensland last night, at approximately 1850 UTS or 0450 Local Queensland Time on the morning of the 23/11/11. I and several other aircraft in the area observed a very bright series of lights descending in the sky in a cluster at the time. The brightest light was leading the cluster, and there were maybe 10 or 12 smaller lights following. We were facing south east at the time, and the object seemed to be descending from a higher altitude overhead our position to a point directly in front of us at a lower altitude. The object was moving very slow, significantly slower than any shooting star I have ever seen. The lights were visible for about two or three minutes. Several minutes later as the sun began to rise, a smoke trail could be seen that followed the path of the object. It extended from a position just south of Mount Isa and continued south east for several hundred miles towards Charleville, although the trail had dissipated by the time our aircraft had passed Charleville. We were at an altitude of 37000ft and the trail was significantly higher than us. I hope this helps!-Mat Thank you Mat!

Hemsedal, Norway Meteor 21NOV2011
Hemsedal, Norway Meteor ~17:00 Local 21NOV2011
I live in Hemsedal, Norway. Yesterday around 17.00 a clock I saw a object flying over the sky. It lokked like a shooting star but it seemed to be very close to earth with a long, bright, fire looking tail. I was looking west when I saw the object. I was not looking at the sky at first, but the big "tail" took my attention. The date was 21/11 - 2011. At, 17.00 (5.00 in the afternoon, Stockholm time) After it got my attention I could look at it for about 3 seconds... So maybe all together for 5-6 seconds. It was travelig at less speed then a shooting star. What could this be? Do you have any information about this? Thank you =) Lisa N Thank you Lisa!
