Sweden 6 p.m local time 11NOV2011
Possible meteor lighting up the sky in Sweden 6 p.m local time on 2011-11-11.
It lasted for maybe 2-3 seconds and lit up the sky very much, more than the moon anyway.
The color was bright blue and it made a rumbling noise for a second or so...
You guys know anything about that? /Sanna Eriksson, Sweden  Thank you Sanna!

Portsmouth, New Hampshire Green streak in sky 7 PM EST 12NOV2011
While driving in Portsmouth, New Hampshire saw one very long defined green streak in the sky right next to the moon. Way too thick to be a patch of clouds plus the sky is completely clear. Has been there for longer than twenty minutes. -Gayla K Thank you Gayla!

Gayla this is most likely not related to a meteor; maybe an aircraft contrail?

B.C./Calgary, Alberta, Canada Green Meteor 11NOV2011

Calgary, Alberta, Canada Green Meteor 10:25 PM MST 11NOV2011
Just saw your website when I was trying to figure out what I saw tonight.
At 10:25PM MST tonight (11/11/11) I was standing on my apartment balcony when I saw a green streak in the sky. It only lasted about 2 seconds and was West of Calgary, AB, Canada heading in a South to North direction over the Rocky Mountains.
Hope this info helps.-Chris Grimes   Thank you Chris!

Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada Meteor 11.11.11
In Nanaimo, from my east facing window looking over Strait of Georgia I saw the biggest fireball-comet -like-meteor blazing down, at a 45 degree angle coming from high in the sky into (it seemed) the ocean between us and Vancouver. I thought it was very close, but now reading your website it seems like the same fireball that was spotted in Calgary - it was in the eastern sky moving from south to north. This is by far the biggest shooting star I have ever seen, and it made 11.11.11 even more memorable! EAL -Nadia S.  Thank you Nadia!

Calgary, Alberta, Canada Blue/Green Meteor ~10:30 PM 11NOV2011
I found this website when I was attempting to ascertain what I saw the evening of 2011 November 11 at approximately 10:30pm…apparently, it was a meteorite! As with the other posts, I, too, witnessed a blue/green light west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada which was travelling in a south to north direction and lasted only a couple of seconds. I had never seen anything like it before and the closest analogy I could find would be that of a shooting star; however, it was much brighter, closer and a different colour. What a sight to behold!-Jamie  Thank you Jamie!

Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. Meteor ~10:25 MST 11NOV2011
NOV.11, 2011 - at approximately 10:25 p.m. my husband and I were driving along 1a almost at the Morley road turn off when we were witness to a most brilliant display staged by the night sky. There was a full moon slightly obscured by clouds at times. To our suprise and pure delight a jagged white ball against the night sky suddenly appeared and within a fraction of a second a long green tail appeared trailing behind the jagged white ball. This writer also recalls a slight line of yellow on the perimeter of the green tail. Seperate from the end of the tail there was a small irregular dot of yellow. This extraordinary visual appeared to be travelling from north to south and dissappeared seemingly into the very nearby landscape. We wondered outloud if we had seen a comet at the end of its journey or perhaps a meteor. It seemed very close to our car and I said to my husband we almost left this planet in a fiery chariot. Do any astronomers know what we have seen? Bonnie R  Thank you Bonnie!  You saw a fireball meteor.

HWY 1 past Old Banff Coach Road at 10:20 PM
Hi, I also saw the bright green flash west of Calgary on November 11, 2011. I was driving west on Highway 1 and had just passed Old Banff Coach Road at 10:20 PM when I saw a very bright green flash coming down from the sky in a slightly north to south direction. It was coming down southwest of where I was. I also thought it might be a shooting star, but it was probably 10x brighter and distinctly green. Also, there was a bit of cloud cover that night, so it was bright enough for me to see it through the clouds. An amazing sight! -- Ricardo Cosentino  Thank you Ricardo!

Sellersville, PA Meteor Fireball 11NOV2011

Sellersville, PA Meteor Fireball ~11:15 pm EST 11NOV2011
I was at an outdoor event with about 6 other people when we saw what looked like a fireball in the sky. It was not green and blue but more like orange and yellow. we watched it for at least 10 seconds when it just seemed to evaporate. one person i was with did catch some of it on video. i have seen plenty of "shooting stars"- this was so different--it had no tail, and it lasted a long time...and it was huge/close feeling. -Emily Thank you Emily!

Nashville, Tennessee, Meteor 11NOV11

Nashville, Tennessee, USA Meteor 7:45 PM CST 11NOV11
I live in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, and last night, 11/11/11, around 7:45 CST, I was sitting on my balcony which faces directly to the east. At an angle somewhere between 30 and 45 degrees up, a bright star quickly appeared and moved down and to the left, disappearing before reaching the horizon. It was the brightest one I had ever seen, and immediately I said a prayer. It was a great experience, especially considering the date.
Tonight, I've been going to different websites to learn more about whether it was a star or meteorite.

Dryden, Ontario, Canada Meteor 3:36 am CST 9NOV2011
I was awake last night due to foot cramp and saw out my south facing window a very bright large fireball, bright yellow with an orange tail traveling from west to east. I don't know how long it took, but I had enough time to see it, get out of bed and stand by the window watching it until it was hidden by trees. It was low enough that it seemed to be eye level while I was looking out of our second story window. When it had disappeared I looked at our clock which said 3:36am, we are on Central standard time and live just south of Dryden, Ontario. This occurred Nov 9, 2011. -Nancy  Thank you Nancy!

Dryden, Ontario, Canada Fireball 03:34 am 9NOV2011
I live in Dryden, Ontario and was awake early the morning of Wednesday, November 9, 2011. At 3:34 a.m., I was looking out our living room window when a bright fireball crossed the sky. It was in the southern sky and was travelling from west to east and was rather low. The object was comparatively slow moving as I was able to get to a different window in a different room and catch it again before it disappeared behind a building down the street. The fireball was pale yellow in colour but the tail appeared to have a blue/green hue. As the fireball moved the tail broke up. It has to be one of the most amazing sights I’ve seen. – Jo-Anne  Thank you Jo-Anne!

Winnipeg, MB Canada Meteor  ~3:34-3:36 am central time 9NOV2011
Hi there, i'm hoping you can help me figure out what it was I saw in the sky the other night. I work night shift in winnipeg, MB and was travelling back to work from on wednesday morning at 3:30 am (Nov. 9/2011). I was going due east at approximately 3:34-3:36 am central time when I saw in the eastern sky moving in a northern direction a small white 'star-like' object that appeared to be getting bigger. It was travelling faster than a plane would in the sky and kept getting bigger as it moved from right to left. The object appeared to grow in size to that of a full moon, perhaps somewhat larger, and seemed to stay a perfect circle. After about 6 or 7 seconds, the object then changed color. First it seemed to start glowing yellow, then a bright, orangish, red. The last few seconds it was visible it got notibly faster and brighter and had suddenly had a very bright almost neon green tail to it. It drifted behind some houses and before my car got past the rooftops to keep looking it was gone. The whole even lasted about 8-12 seconds max. I went online to try and figure out what I saw and noticed these posts on your site. It appears I saw the same object as the people in Dryden, Ontario Meteor 9 NOV2011. David's post from winnipeg damn near exactly describes what I saw as well (and is the same time and location, Regent Avenue is 5 mins from where I was). Hopefully my account will help figure out what it was. -Jay K.
Thank you Jay!

Spinghill, Arkansas Meteor 8NOV2011

Spinghill, Arkansas Meteor ~12:00 8NOV2011
I live in Springhill, just outside of Conway in central Arkansas. Last night, November 8th 2011, we had let our dog in the garage because it was a bit stormy and rainy earlier in the evening. So I let him out for a bit before going to bed. I was sitting on our front porch (which faces south) giving him time to do his thing before letting him back into the garage. Honestly cannot tell you the time but know it had to be somewhere towards midnight. As I sat there suddenly something caught my eye. Toward the west-south-west of our property, close to the horizon appeared what seemed to be a rather large bright burning object with what appeared to be a tail falling from the sky. Just as suddenly it disappeared. It only lasted a few seconds and to me seemed very close to the Earth. I was nearly certain it hit the ground somewhere not too far from where we live and even wondered ( in horror ) if it might be plane on fire crashing to the ground. I rather expected to see the glow of fire in the distance and perhaps even feel the explosion as it hit the ground. But nothing. I went to bed and watched the local news a while before falling to sleep. I had a restless night and so watched TV on and off all night and never heard any mention of the fireball falling from the sky. I told my husband and son about it this morning as we drove to our other property to work on the house we are building. I just this evening thought to look on line for any information as to what it may have been. But after watching CNN this morning and this evening and hearing not a word about this incident, I felt I had to. I found your site eventually by typing in the search bar something like.. what was that falling from the sky last night? I was encouraged to read the 2 reports from others on your site verifying that I wasn't the only one who saw this. I had already tried searching for meteorites and other such events. So this is my report on what I saw falling from the sky last night. Hope it helps!
Also I would like to add that many years ago in southern Calif. while driving on the freeway near the city of San Bernardino, I saw in the sky up above a bright object that as I remember it looked to be a bluish-green ball of light with a tail traveling across the sky above. This too only lasted a very short time. Moments... seconds? I had no way of knowing which direction it was heading at the time. I want to say for some reason that it was heading east toward the desert, but I cannot be at all sure. I believe this happened sometime in the 70s. Never heard a word about what it may have been and of course had no internet back then or so many sources of information to try to track it down. Just wondering if you may have any idea what it might have seen.
Much thanks, Sharon Keith, Springhill, Arkansas  Thank you Sharon!

Lewisville, Texas Fireball Meteor 9NOV2011

Lewisville, TX  Fireball Meteor 12:08 AM 9NOV2011
My name is Christopher. I think my mom and I saw a HUGE fireball last night.
At about 12:08am Nov 9 2011. We're in Lewisville, Tx. It looked like was shooting straight down SE of Dallas. It was close to the horizon so from where it started it may have only lasted about 4-6 seconds until we couldn't see it anymore. It was very bright and looked really close, we thought it was crashing. It was amazing! I didn't know we we're due for a meteor shower, so I looked it up and found this website and email. Hope this info helps. Christopher Rodriguez  Thank you Christopher!

Dallas, Texas area
I saw it for a brief 1-2 seconds, clearly going strait down, my friend told me it landed in White Settlement City, Texas about 45 min away from Dallas the biggest explosion I`v ever seen, more info on this please! -Eric Campbell  Thank you Eric!
