17FEB20012 Alyce Dolphin Cascade, IA 11:25 Central Time about 3 seconds. NNE falling nearly straight down Green like a large planet falling down about twice the brightness as Venus No and without a tail. Almost looked like a large falling firework. I saw it from inside the house while looking out the window and it was easily seen through branches of a large tree behind the garage. It fell fairly quickly, but not fast. Like it was a green planet that glided down. I could only see it from the top of the window, about 45 degrees up in the sky and for about 4 fingers down at arms length to behind the garage roof. I have seen only a couple of other shooting stars that same size and color, but usually with a streak. This one was a bit slower with no streak.

Preliminary analysis of this from on station data only (direction of entry from angular velocity behaviour) would give a roughly 10 kg (from my statistical model, with wide margins for) meteorite down, somewhere to the Sumter National Forest, around: 81.67 W, 34.58 N (very rough).
Coming from about az 312 with the slope (steepness) of 46 degrees. Entry velocity of 13 km/s would have the beginning at 79 km and end about 22 km.
This is very rough. But the velocity is quite low and quite sure did fall good meteorite(s).

Breaking News - Japan Earthquake ~5.0 ~10:30 am 11JAN2012

The Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) gives a preliminary report of 4.7 magnitude with an epicenter in Ibaraki-Ken at a depth of 50km. The magnitude of the quake in the Tokyo area was ~3.0 M. The quake occurred at 10:27 Japan Standard Time. No damage has been reported and there is no danger of a tsunami reported.
