A bright and slow meteor was visible from the entire island moving the Northeast to the Southeast, reported Caribbean Astronomical Society (SAC). The educational institution noted that remarkable meteor was spotted at about 9:06 p.m. Thursday. "Obviously was visible from the entire island, as we received reports of Juncos, Vega Alta and to Mayagüez," said Eddie Irizarry, vice president of the SAC.
"Some areas of the island were clouded, but the meteor was bright enough so many saw the clouds or even behind them," said the educational institution. "It was like a glowing sphere, like a big shooting star with a long tail light blue" described Ednaly Ortiz Camacho, Vega Alta, in the networks of the SAC.
The organization managed to capture some images of the meteor and shared a video in which we see that in effect was visible although some cloudiness. He explained that meteors as these are caused by a disintegrating space rock through our atmosphere.

Discovered on the 4th of June 2016, 7 metre wide Apollo asteroid 2016LT1 will make a very close approach of our planet and moon tomorrow. Minimum CA distance for earth is a mere 0.4 LD. The low earth relative velocity of 7.4 Km/s coupled with it's relatively small size and close approach minimum distance could hold promise for a dazzling display for lucky fireball chasers if local weather permits.

I am in knoxville TN. I saw a big beautiful meteor tonight. I am guessing like 9:15. It came north to south and was as large as maybe 1/3 the size of the moon. I have seen many meteors. Never like this one. It almost looked to big. Beautiful , bright white. I'd love to see some pictures if anyone got them.
I scared my family to death when I jumped up and yelled woooooo!

I was in my car (on a break from work) facing West white, no sound. it lit up my car, then I noticed the parking lot was lit up as well sun yes I thought it was someone playing with a flashlight then it got brighter. Then I thought another car was coming at me. When I turned and looked I saw the parking lot lit up and the streak of light coming down. then it fragmented.

'Based on numerous eyewitness accounts, a small asteroid estimated at 10 feet (3 meters) in diameter – with a mass in the tens of tons and a kinetic energy of approximately 10 kilotons – entered Earth’s atmosphere above Arizona just before 4 a.m. local (MST) time. NASA estimates that the asteroid was moving at about 40,200 miles per hour (64,700 kilometers per hour).
Eyewitness reports placed the object at an altitude of 57 miles above the Tonto National Forest east of the town of Payson, moving almost due south. It was last seen at an altitude of 22 miles above that same forest.
“There are no reports of any damage or injuries—just a lot of light and few sonic booms,” said Bill Cooke in NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. “If Doppler radar is any indication, there are almost certainly meteorites scattered on the ground north of Tucson'
