Missouri and Illinois Two Meteors Seen 2JUL2011

2 Meteors over O' Fallon, MO. ~9:20 - 9:30PM 2JUL2011
We were outside watching fireworks and I happen to turn around in time to see a large orange "fireball" flying across the sky from North to South. I was facing West. It was awesome. I turned back around after my wife and 6 yr old saw it burn out. About 5-8 secs later my wife yelled to turn around again. There was another one, what seemed to be the same size. I almost did not believe what I saw. We all saw it, it was really cool. This was about about 9:20 - 9:30PM time frame -Dave Burton

LaSalle-Peru, Illinois  huge fragmenting fireball ~about 9:30 p.m.? 2JUL2011
We were driving south on I-39 near Mendota and LaSalle-Peru in Illinois (possibly about 9:30 p.m.?) watching all the fireworks on the horizon when we saw the same huge fragmenting fireball. It's duration was lengthy and the light was brilliant. We kept an eye out as we continued to drive and saw at least two more meteors of the same brightness that did not fragment or last as long. -Brown8605

In Janesville WI I saw a freball flying approximately southeast at 11:30 pm. It bright and looked like fire flickering. There was no visible trail but we watched it for about 3-4 minutes before it abruptly faded out(not over the horizon).
