Initial Meteor Sighting Reports:

25NOV2012 Nick Reno, NV 1:10 AM PST About 2 seconds. Facing southwest, traveled to the east No sound. Colors were bright white with a little bit of blue, followed by some sparks as it fell apart. About as bright as the moon. Yes No

25NOV2012 Patricia Chino HIlls, CA 1:13:00 Estimated to be around 4-5 seconds. United States HUGE green light going S to N, leaving the atmosphere, lit up the sky. Suddenly turned into an orange/white color. Around just as bright as the moon, extremely beautiful. No parts falling off, remained in one piece. Unbelievable sight, did not look natural at all, more so artificial.

25NOV2012 Francisco manriquez highway 40 west,needles,  ca 1:20:00 4 seconds north west very bright.it lit up the dessert  for a second or two then broke apart while falling down very bright cant explain it  but it lit the whole dessert yes many very unusual how it lit the whole dessert green flash

25NOV2012 Niilo Tippler Los Angeles, CA, USA. 90069 Zip code. 01:30 PST 4-6 seconds. Facing NE. Object trajectory NE 60deg from Horizon to 30deg from Horizon. Traveling NE vector towards horizon (down or away from viewpoint - difficult to tell). Bright green w. a yellow/green center. Green debris falling from center. Green trail. No sound. Brighter than moon. Yes. Green colored debris falling from center, with trail followers. Sky was reasonably clear. Some minimal haze, but brighter stars visible.

24NOV2012 Brett Hankins Sonora, CA USA pst 5 seconds 9:05   N E white lots of sparks moon yes it was huge and looked almost like the moon falling

24NOV2012 David Wright Fallon, NV, US 2100 Pacific time About 1 sec ~45deg above horizon to S, travel down, SSW. Bright Green, and broke apart VERY bright, like aircraft landing light. Yes, appeared to explode and trail pieces.

24NOV2012 Steph el dorado hills, ca, usa 2100 2 seconds NE to SW I was facing south Super Bright White, as bright as the full moon reminded me of a sparkler not at first, when burning out it seemed like a couple of pieces falling off It seemed so large and close.  The brightest moving object I have ever seen in the sky

Object appeared to be heading north, northeast maybe. very bright blue/green/white with tail less bright than the moon, but much brighter than venus no larger than any meteor I've ever seen. Very bright and quite large.

24NOV2012 Daniel McCormick Folsom California 10:00 pm pst 8 seconds west/left to right Bright White and bluish on its edges bright as the moon no it was a circular ball of light coming towards earth heading west above Folsom CA

24NOV2012 Morgan Roseville, CA, USA 20:50:00 5 to 8 Seconds 75 degree angle of decent from NE to SW while we were facing south Very bright metalic anodized light green in color Brighter than the moon and streetlights but not as bright as the sun. Solid mass with no parts falling off Appeared as a falling glowing green ball for about 2 seconds then quickly formed a long streaking tail with thin yellow highlights appearing to the sides of the long green tail. The large object did not fragment as it fell out of our view below the tree line at about a 75 degree angle.

24NOV2012 Sarah Chico, CA 21:00:00 Didn't burnout in my vision. Driving south, it was traveling southeast Different than any I have ever seen. Large with a short orange tail. Very bright. Nothing falling off. No photo as I was driving.

21NOV2012 Jeff Redlynch, Cairns, QLD, Australia approx 2300 GMT+10 approx 3-4 seconds Looking South, meteor travelled in a SW direction Very bright green, lit up the sky with green light, central yellow/orange flame much brighter than the moon fragmented as it travelled across the sky, bits streaking and broke up into 2 or 3 large pieces before disappearing At first I thought it was someone letting off a boat flare, but it couldn't be as it was far too high and over land.  Amazingly vivid green light lit up the whole sky to the South, with an orange flaming centre

21NOV2012 Benjamin Barbi Ingham, QLD, 4850 22:45 GMT +10 30 sec? went behind trees Right to left facing North Green/Blue flash lit up the sky like day. orangeish head with blue tail Flash was like daylight cant recall seen the flash and the meteor pass westerly in a downwards motion. about 5 minutes later was a loud boom that shook my house.
