The Harp family was visited by Don Stimpson, owner of the Kansas Meteorite Museum and Nature Center.
"When I saw the pictures, it looked very convincing that it was a meteorite. So I jumped in the car and drove over here," Stimpson said.
At the time of the Southwest Times' phone call, Stimpson was investigating the size of the crater.

"It's definitely a meteorite, no question about it," Stimpson said. "I'm still trying to understand. There's a small crater in the back yard. The crater seems a bit large for the meteorite. So I'm swinging a metal detector to see if there's any more pieces."
