07Dec2011 Shannon Chicago USA 10:30 CST 2 - 3? Traveled E - W, appeared directly over downtown Chicago Very bright white tail, blue around the "head", slight pink/red tinge also around the head. Bright as a full moon; brightest I've ever seen. Not that I could see. This was the most impressive meteor I've ever seen. I just happened to look out the window at the exact right moment.

07DEC2011 Joel Urbana, IL USA 22:35 CST 3-4 sec. E-SW Bright white and blue tail, extending well beyond the meteor Same as moon No/Unsure Either incredibly close or incredibly large!

07DEC2011 Jennifer Lombard, IL; USA 22:30 CST 2-3 sec East to West Very bright green to white Brighter than the moon, looked like a white hot fire, as though something was burning and falling through the sky. No large parts but some sparks, almost like a large firework trailing down. Just amazing, so much larger and brighter than any shooting star I've seen. I worried it was a part falling from a plane! So glad I witnessed it.

07DEC2011 Jason Cincinnati, Ohio 23:32 Eastern 1.5 to 2.5 seconds Object traveled from North to South White, weird blue-ish green toward the bottom of the streak, and a small tinge of yellow Slightly brighter than the moon. Did not see any fragments, only saw the one streak My window faces due West and the object travelled from right to left, or North to South. I heard no sound because my tv was turned up.

7DEC2011 roger miles crawfordsville indiana EST 2 seconds north to south blue streak very bright one small part came off at the end. It was juat a blue streak in the sky

07Dec2011 Jessica Grainger County, TN, United States 11:30 PM Eastern Time Zone 5 seconds It was traveling west. It appeared to be green and at first I thought it was a shooting star but quickly realized it was something else when it appeared to suddenly catch on fire. It lit up a significant amount of the sky around it. Then it kept shooting across the sky and disappeared. Brighter then anything I had ever saw in the sky. Nothing was falling off. It was amazingly bright.

07Dec2011 Tyler bolingbrook Il USA 22:22 CST 5/6/2011 North to south came from chicago direction blue/white brighter than moon unsure moving very fast moving/ didnt seem to be falling just shot across the sky/ 10 times faster then a jet

07DEC2011 Tim Hardman Newark, Ohio, USA 23:32 CST 1 seconds N;S right to left looking West very bright white, no sound. I was in a chair watching tv., facting west. On the far side of the room is a narrow window, the meteorite light passed across the window so I can't really give a good estimate for duration. sun yes very bright white

7DEC2011 Joe Murphy Traveling South on I-75 near West Chester, OH, United States 23:31 PM EST 2 I was headed South on I-75, and the object traveled from right to left, so I'd say it was headed West to East or maybe even Northwest to Southeast. white head, long streaking orange/blue tail, no sound (was driving in automobile) I would say moonlike; it didn't light up the entire sky if that's what you are asking, but it was very bright and clearly visible Not that I noticed. No other observations can be recalled.

07Dec2011 Patrick Cincinnati, Ohio 2330 Eastern time about 4 seconds NE to SW Blue with a white tail. As bright as the moon but smaller. Before it disappeared I saw what appeared to be two explosions. They went from red to orange in color. I had seen shooting stars before but this was absolutely amazing. Truly a once in a lifetime sighting. I was so breathless I failed come with a wish.

07Dec2011 Meagan Columbus, Ohio; United States 2330 around 30 Right to left Silver/ white incandescence. Shimmering. Bright white at front Same brightness as Venus No The most dramatic "falling star" event I have ever witnessed. Breathtaking. Disappeared when it got close to bottom of horizon.

07Dec2011 Meagan Columbus, Ohio; United States 2330 5-10 (very beautiful, made it seem like time stood still) Right to left Silver/ white incandescence. Shimmering. Bright white at front Same brightness as Venus No The most dramatic "falling star" event I have ever witnessed. Breathtaking. Disappeared when it got close to bottom of horizon.

07DEC2011 LEE THORNVILLE, OH, usa 23:32 est 4 - 6 SEC NW TO SE WHITE & BLUE TAIL AS BRIGHT AS THE SUN BUT MUCH SMALLER NO BUT THE TAIL WAS APPROXIMATELY 7 TIMES LONGER THAN THE FIREBALL LIKE NOTHING I'VE EVER SEEN

07DEC2011 Trish A Frankfort, KY, USA 23:40 EST 1 Second or less in my view E-W Blue - I don't know if there was a sound because I was indoors the trail was light blue but bright and the head was intense blue like a planet but bigger. Did not see anything like that. It was much more intense than a meteor shower or "falling star". It was almost light and intense contrail with a bright head. It wasn't very fast, I had time to track it from one window to the next before it disappeared out of my view (I have two windows that are side by side and tall and I saw the line in the right window and was able to see it more clearly in the left window. By the time I jumped up and looked out the window it was gone.

07DEC2011 Harold Dick Greensboro, NC 23:31 Eastern Standard Time Zone 4 seconds WNW sky, traveling right to left white with hints of mint green in color Half brightness of full moon Broke into about 3 pieces last 1-2 seconds Low in the sky, started in WNW direction from my location at about 30 degrees sky angle and traveled toward the south direction to about a WSW direction from my location, descending to about 20 degrees sky angle. Bright white with a mint green color to fire ball and following trail. Broke into 3 pieces for last 1-2 seconds, each following the other until it disappeared with a slightly brighter flash.

07DEC2011 Alejandro Miranda Chicago, IL. 2232 CST 3/4/2011 South white sphere with aqua bluish tail venus unknown caught glimpse of bright sphere then turned into tail, then dissapated

7DEC2011 VaughnT Greenwood, SC, USA 2330 EST 7 seconds of visibility, obscured by landscape features. East to West Green, with a long white tail and a burst of green luminescence midway through the trajectory Very close to the moon in brightness. It was the size and brilliance that caught my eye. None seen, though that could have explained the burst of brilliance halfway through. Most amazing thing I've ever seen. Very large compared to the background stars and airplane lights, and moving far faster than anything I've ever seen in the night sky.
