Beautiful meteorite passing over my house by the river in Laval des Rapides, around 2:20 am on the 13th of august 2011. The only one I saw, but an absolutely beautiful show of 2 seconds. NE to SW. :D

 

I wish to see it again on video, but the only camera I had were my eyes.

Perseids from Colorado

This year's Perseids have been one of the strongest I've seen in a 
number of years. Despite the moonlight and not very transparent skies, I 
still imaged 105 Perseids last night (the peak), and 361 since August 4. 
I'd estimate the activity this year at the peak to be at least three 
times higher than last year.

I witnessed around 10:40 PM (traveling from north to south) a bright object, possibly a meteor, falling from my home in Holiday, Florida . The object was bright white and from my vantage point the size of a star in the sky. It appeared like a fizzling out firework at first but, was much to high in the atmosphere. It moved much slower than a normal shooting star does taking about 3 seconds to move an inch in the sky. It left a large trail behind it. I watched as it went behind a cloud then back into my vision. The object began to fade a bit and then continued to fall out of my field of sight due to many trees in my neighborhood. -Kathleen

  At approximately between 6:35-6:45 pm 11AUG2011, I witnessed a point-source burst with a large center cluster with 5-7 side bursts while standing on my balcony facing approximately due West just prior to sunset. At first I thought I was seeing fireworks!!!....  Stunned with awe, I ran into my apartment to grab a camera but the batteries were missing and it took time to locate a second camera.  By the time I got back outside (approximately 3 minutes) the event was no longer visible.
