ペルセウス座流星群は、少なくとも2000年にわたって観察されている、すべての133年に一度、太陽を周回する彗星スウィフト·タットル、関連付けられています。 8月に毎年、地球が彗星の破片の雲を通過します。氷と塵のこれらのビットは - ほとんどの1,000以上の歳 - 今年最高の流星群のいずれかを作成するために、地球の大気圏で燃え尽きる。ペルセウス座流星群は、全天にわたって見られることができますが、最高の視聴の機会が北半球全体になります。鋭い目を持つ人は、星座ペルセウス座の方向からの流星の放射が表示されます。
