MD NJ CT VA Meteor Fireball = Rocket Launch 29JUN2011
Update from Elizabeth W.:
Well, I think the MD fireball is just an observation of the launch of a Minotaur rocket from Wallops Island. The rocket was carrying the ORS-1 satellite. Launch occurred at 11:09pm. There were some (low) clouds in the area so it would have seemed to 'disappear'...
I viewed the launch from Alexandria, VA... There were several hundred if not thousands of folks watching the launch from DE down to NC, so if there was an actual fireball, I would think we would have seen more reports...
And it was very red at first and seemed to disappear very momentarily which I attribute to low clouds...

Ocean City, Maryland Meteor Fireball ~11:00 pm 29JUN2011
I am writing to report a fireball like siting in Ocean City, Maryland June 29 2011.
In a southern sky around 11 pm, I saw a bright red orange fireball, not as large as a full moon. It had multiple red orange bright burning like small trails that continued for about 15 seconds . The main fireball, then started to become smaller as it continued across the sky in a southern direction . It seemed to dwindle to nothing and then reappeared once more at this point looking like a giant star and continued again until it just disappeared . All in all , From when I first noticed it to when it ended lasted about what seemed to be 1 minute .
It was stunning !!!!! -trixiespalace

Peyia, Cyprus Meteor Fireball 00:05 EET 24JUN2011
I saw a large orange red fireball as big as the moon. It was visible over Peyia Valley in Cyprus. I was facing south south west at the time and it was visible for about 45 seconds from me noticing it. Totally silent.
Whilst I was watching it shrank to half the size in an instant but then it very slowly started a descent into the valley but then just before it disappeared it looked like it had exploded.
Hope this info was helpful for your research.
Please note that the time was Thursday night early hours in the morning of Friday 24th June 2011 and that this was Cyprus time. Regards, Julie R Thank you Julie!

El Paso fireball with very nice long lasting train
Just observed a nice fireball with impressive train.Train lasted at least 5 to6 seconds @ 4:33 am MDT.White in color. This event cover about 50 degrees.I could see the light on the ground and reflecting in the sky. Seemed to come from Pegasus area of the sky moving down to the south west.I believe this event should be in your southeastern sky from the ELP Allsky location. Fireball lasted 3 to 4 seconds visually. I was up hoping to get a look at Comet C/2009 P1 Garradd but the wind was blowing to hard to set up so I was just
standing out looking nake eye at the sky. The train event was outstanding. The train went from white to a rust red back to white before decaying. The best such event I have observed this year.
Regards,Thomas Dorman, Sky City, TX

Gryt, Sweden greenish light ~23:45 on 27 June 2011
Aloha. My name is Curtis Zimmerman. My girlfriend and I witnessed
effects from the meteor last night. We were laying in bed watching a movie and the room filled with
flashes of greenish light at approximately 23:45 on 27 June 2011 (as
opposed to the 23:55 reported by others). I immediately ran to a
nearby window and attempted to spot anything in the sky, however
apparently the meteor (as I suspect it to be, judging from all of the
signs of the event) had already passed directly overhead. We are on a
small island near the town of Gryt in Sweden, southwest of Stockholm
by about 150km or so. I put on some shorts and shoes, and ran outside
in the yard to see if I could spot anything else, and noticed a
twisting, irregularly-shaped "contrail" left by something extremely
recent, and I assumed thereafter that this trail was left by the
(re)entering object. My girlfriend and I had been standing outside
approximately 60-75 seconds after the flashes of extremely bright
light, when we heard (from overhead) a very distant, distinct,
rumbling sound, not unlike a consistent kind of thunder, but not
exactly like that of a jet plane. The rumbling sound lasted
approximately 10 to 15 seconds, then trailed off faintly. I am in the
military and have extensive experience with aerial phenomenon and
suspect this event to be a meteor or possibly a piece of re-entering
space trash. I am no meteorologist or weather expert, but juding on my
experience with timing sound to light events, I calculate the
approximate distance of the object to be about 20-30km directly over
our point of observation. Hope this helps,-curtisz Thank You Curtisz!
Jonkoping, Sweden Bolide ~23:30 27JUN2011
I saw the meteor on 27 June 2011 at approximately 23:30 (ish) whilst in Jonkoping, Sweden.
I've seen meteors / comets before, but this was something else. It was so close it was unbelievable, and looked more like something out of a movie.

North Estonia
I saw it too, and im living in North-Estonia. i was on my way home. it was nothing like i had ever seen before, it was so bright and moving in straight line, down the sky far far away. as i was looking it, trying to understand what it is, it suddenly turned to flames, and that point i got somewhat scared, my head twisted and i started to walk faster to my home, which is at higher grounds, seemed safer. glad it didnt turn out so badly. -Sew

Morgan, Utah Bright Orange-colored Meteor ~3:50 a.m. 27JUN2011
Hello, just seen pretty bright, orange colored meteor with what looked like sparks around it something fly through the sky. Above Morgan, Utah at about 3:50 a.m. june 27th. Viewed by eye and not telescope the size was bigger than what commercial airline planes look. It was going south or southeast. The length of time I seen it was about 5 seconds. I don't know if it was the 2011 MD asteroid or a seperate meteorite. Seconds before that there was a light that size and color looked just as a small star, I would have thought it was a star but it was moving quicker than airplanes do. It was around the same part of sky as the larger what possible asteroid traveling same direction but still slower. Jake, Morgan, Utah
It was not 2011 MD. Thank you Jake!

Rowlett, TX Bright Slow Meteor Fireball ~5:20am 27JUN2011
I saw a fireball from my bedroom window about 5:20am on June 27 2011 traveling in a northwest direction.
My perspective was from Rowlett TX, a suburb of Dallas, looking southeast. The fireball was travelling from left to right about 45deg from the horizon and at a 30deg angle. It was bright, changed colors and broke up into multiple pieces. It seemed to be moving slower than I have seen meteorites travel before. It lasted more than 3 seconds I lost sight of it after it traversed the width of my window.-Regal
Thank you!

Lexington, KY Orange-red Meteor Fireball approx 9:40.pm 25JUN2011
I was in my parents back yard saturday night June 25 2011 approx 9:40.pm Lexington Ky 40504. I saw this orange -red fireball coming very fast across the sky from the s east going west. it was very bright and you could see the color and the flames . I hollered for my mom and dad to come outside and they were able to see it also. It had flames on the end. It seemed to get smaller as it approached overhead and looked like it went straight up and disappeared. It was very amazing. I am glad my parents saw this as they are both in their late 80's -Linda Owens

My friends and I saw this, too! It was some time between 9pm and midnight (sorry that I can't be more precise). We were sitting outside at the Starbucks on Nicholasville Rd when two gigantic, flaming, orange-red spheres came zipping overhead. One was a few seconds behind the other, but as far as we could tell they were on the same trajectory, moving E to W (slightly SE to NW). -Zabet

I'm in Bedfordshire, UK and last night at around 9.40pm my son and I saw an bright orange, spherical object travelling across the sky in a North Westerly direction. It was as clear as a bell and was, most certainly not a plane. The sky was incredibly clear last night and we could see planes all around. It was visible for some time as it travelled the length of the sky (incredibly fast) and it's trajectory was certainly a downward direction. I have never seen anything like it before and am familiar with shooting stars, meteor showers and the like.

June 26, 2011 at 0453 PDT (1153 GMT) over Yuba City, California. (c) 2011 Yuba City Sentinel Allsky / YC Sentinel |
After a very long period of slow fireball activity, a somewhat unusual event occured early in the morning of June 26, 2011 at 0453 PDT (1153 GMT) over Yuba City, California. This meteoroid originated at zenith and lasted 3 seconds in a SouthWest direction (South-West at 244 deg. True North.), ending at an apprx. altitude of 46 degrees. I do not know if this event fits the theoretical modeling Dirk has suggested regarding associated material from space accompanying (before and after) the asteroid 2011 MD. -YCSentinel

FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS - 1960 - FULL MOVIE
PUBLIC DOMAIN - In 1985, debris from the 1908 Tunguska "meteor" are found which turn out to be recordings from a spaceship crashed there. The ship's origin is determined to be Venus, and an international team sets out with their spaceship "Kosmokrator" to visit the "Silent Planet", which is shrouded in clouds, and doesn't respond to contact attempts. While the "Kosmokrator" is in flight, the record is decoded and it turns out that the Venusians seemingly planned to invade Earth in 1908. Should the "Kosmokrator" still attempt to get in touch with the Aliens? And why are they silent now? TheRastaSamurai Uploaded 2009 to YouTube
