Bright, long duration, fragmentation - Meteorites MAYBE!?
This was a MAJOR meteor event!  Seen in at least 15 STATES!
Map will be completed ASAP, given my time allowance; this will be in several hours given over 350 reports.

22MAR2013 J moore Richmond, VA 20:00:00 maybe 2 seconds not sure - for me it was left to right and heading down it was very bright green brighter then an airplane that is very close - as bright as the moon on a clear night no I've never seen anything like it - my husband and son were in the car behind me and the first thing they said when they got out was "did you see that????" It was amazing.

Turned yellow and disintegrated We saw this through the winter trees in our back yard.  Very bright.  Biggest I've ever seen.  Was expecting a very loud noise. Came 30 seconds later.  Looked like it was over the Chesapeake Bay from Saint Leonard MD.  Could have been farther, but the lag time in sound would indicate closer I guess.

Couldnt see well enough We were driving so it was hard to see behind some trees for the middle of it, but I slowed down in time to see it burn out.

Did not know if it was missile or meteor at time. Went outside to see if anyone was harmed and listened for ambulances or emergency vehicles. Did not hear of any other reports.

NEOs Close Approaches March 2013

Historically two very large meteorite falls have occurred on 05MAR1960 "Gao-Guinea, Burkina-Faso" and "Jilin, China"  08MAR1976; March historically has at least 66 meteorite falls documented.

There are at present 14 NEOs with an approach under 10LD scheduled for March 2013, 
2007 EO882013 EC. 2013 ET , 2013 EN20 , 2013 ES11 , 2013 ES , 2013 EC20 , 2013 EA29 , 2013 ES412013 ED68 2013 EL89 2013 FG 2013 FD8 2013 FB8

I expect that we will have more found prior to the end of the month.  Expect some greatly increased meteor activity just prior to and just after 04MAR and 18MAR.  Get the word out by posting about this website on  Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and your favorite forums; thank you!

I am in new smyrna beach also. On central florida's east coast and saw an object like a shooting star but much closer and with a bright greenish tail that burned out as it came towards the ground...? this was around 10pm eastern time i think.  -steve holvik

West Delray beach fl..... It looked like a green flare falling from sky but didn't float like flare it came down on a solid diagonal line with a small tale. Color not lime not quite crayon green. It was large in size like no shooting star I've ever seen. Date 3/21/13
