Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 23 pm local time, approximately (2:00 a.m. May 11 greendwich)It started as a blue ball, very bright, and became green. It took about 3 or 4 seconds to fall once the houses in my neighborhood they covered my vision. I never saw anything like it. It was amazing! Greetings from the southern cone! Please let me get information if you know something about.

Please help out with information.

PERTH CBD fire ball/meteor at 05:49hrs local time  10MAY2011

At 05:49HRs local western Australia time on the morning of 10/05/2011 I saw a fire ball/meteor streak across the sky 12KMs north of the CBD.
It was blueish/yellow/orange. It had a tail and started to break up as it completed its arc across the sky.. Is there any where I can report this and find out what it was?  Regards. Phil.-philip.d

I saw it! I was taking my usual morning walk at about 5.45am this morning in the southern suburb of Success and I saw what looked like a shooting star - like a bright star with a tail and it appeared to trail away to the North from where I was seeing it. It was amazing. I have never seen one before and I felt very lucky to have viewed it. -Anon.

I saw a meteor or something like it at 05.50 this morning (10th May 2011) it crossed the sky in the east heading north very low to the horizon.
It was the largest non manmade object I have ever seen in the sky.
It had a long tail and had flashes of colour , green, blue and yellow, it took about 15 seconds to cross the sky, I'm guessing the colours came from different elements in the rock.

I saw the meteor at 5:50am at Raymond road. it looked as though it was a few km's away, very large and bright green/white colour.. couldnt believe my eyes as it shot through the sky for around 20 seconds, So blessed that me and my husband witnessed such an amazing sight. My daughter saw this near fireball near Safety Bay - while a passenger
 in a car on the freeway this morning. She described it as green - then
blue/orange before it disappeared in a flash of white. Time about
6:50, May 10.
My son was driving on the same freeway - but near Golden Bay (15kms
further south). He saw the identical green fireball at approximately
the same time.
Curiously a few weeks ago residents in this same region experienced 2
mini tremors. Others heard reverberating sonic booms - particularly
coastal residents and residents near Bullsbrook.
A similar fireball was sighted in W.A back in May 1st,1995 (at 2 am).
About half a million people between Bunbury and Toodyay saw the
fireball that time. Lots heard this roaring sound. Mundaring Seismic
observatory picked up the ground vibration wave for almost two
minutes. Witnesses in the Midland area saw the fireball stop dead in
the sky and its tail invert. Then there was this enormous blue-white
light like a welding arc flash, and an explosion which caused things
to fall off the shelves. Then when it had finished with Perth, it
travelled all the way up the coast terrifying people up as far as
Sunday Island in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Some people (e.g. a W.A. geologist named Harry Mason - See his article
Bright Skies) postulated that the 1995 incident was possible evidence
of E/M weapons testing/weather manipulation.

Saw a very fast moving, very bright greenish meteorite(?) travelling low across the Eastern sky, just below the very bright Venus and Jupiter, at 5.50am this morning. Only saw it for approximately 5 seconds before I lost sight of it behind some trees (assume it had finished its journey). Lots of tail and sparks. Absolutely amazing to witness. Not the "Space Station" that has been featuring on news reports. - Tina C.

Wow what a cracker, I was sitting waiting for my bus at 05:50am facing East and
a large fireball with greens/ orange colouring and a tail traveling south to north and
low, lit the black morning sky up, it didn't last long, burnt out breaking into several

I saw what I think was a meteor tonight on my way home from work. I live in Illinois and I was traveling southbound just north of a small town on I-70 called Montrose just after midnight this morning, may 8th, 2011. I saw a blue-green meteor that was traveling in what looked like a westward direction. I frequently travel this late at night and have seen similar objects before but they were always white, very small and very fast. This was much larger and slower and such a brilliant blue and green colored light. It looked like it was so close, like it may have landed within a mile of where I was! It was an amazing sight to see, I'm just not sure exactly what it was. It was almost like seeing part of a firework falling to the ground. -Bobby Miller

We live in Midwest City, OK, near Oklahoma City USA.

We witnessed the meteor at 9:24 this evening while we were sitting on our porch.

It lasted maybe 15 seconds.  It was brightly colored - yellow,orange,red and blue (the tip

of the meteorite was blue).  We didn't hear any sounds.  We were facing east . The meteor came from the north and headed south and downward. It was obscured by a tree for a moment. -Barbara

I observed a HUGE bright object - did not note the color -appearing long enough for me to point it out to my passenger and for him to respond. From our perspective it was visible high over the TX/OK border and traveled in a perfectly linear fashion from north to south before disappearing into what seemed to be the middle of the sky.

Yes!! Hi. We live in Van Wert Ohio. My fiance yelled for me to come outside around 10pm. He was very excited about something.When I reached the doorway I looked up and saw a ball of fire moving from the west to the east. It was just above some of the cloud cover. There were two that I could see. Odd thing was they were moving slowly. And I noticed a tail of fire off of them. Then what happened next scared us both. One moved very swiftly to the left then far to the right. Then directly back to the middle path it was following. I then left to go get my son. I have never seen anything like this.And I happen to love the night skies and what they have to offer. This was scary for us both. My fiance said there ended up being three of them and they kept traveling east. Does anyone know what they were? Or did anyone else see this?

I saw something similar to what the people in Brunswick, VIC, Australia saw. The difference was that it was at 7:15am EST on the 05/05/2011. I can confirm that there was greens in the fireball, but mainly reds, yellows, oranges and whites. Here is my post:
i am new to these forums and recent enthusiast (I wont say amateur as i dont have that much time).
Although, I do look to the sky (perhaps too often) in search of that wonder that will awe me.
Well today I got my awe. i was driving s-s-w from capella to emerald along the gregory highway, with the sun to my left and a crisp autumn sky with few clouds, it was the perfect start to my morning. Imagine a long straight road with nothing but sky and fields in my view.
At approximately 7:15 am, my eye caught a massive flash from out the top of my right window. This 'flash' proceeded into view along the top of my windscreen and trailed across the sky and then below the horizon. Time seemed to slow and my vision was encapsulated by the bright light. I was spellbound. Intial impressions were 'WOW, this is huge!'. Its main body was 3/4 the size of my fist held up to the sky (which eclipsed a local cloud) and its trail was about the size of your thumb held up to the sky. It burned with an effervescence I have never seen in a comet. It was also going extremely fast, my prediction (totally unreliable though) is in the region of 60km/s.
It was still burning as it dipped below the horizon.... Then I remembered i was driving! Thank goodness for straight roads!
This made my day and far oustrips anything I have ever seen in the sky. I cant get it out of my head. Now I am looking for any other information that people can provide on what I saw and why it was so frightning/awe-inspiring.
