12JAN2012 Roy Duggan Virginia Water, UK 18:17 +/- 3min GMT 3 secs E-W I was syiing in on the A30 traffic facing South West and the meteor appeared to go left to right at about 30deg above horizon one bright and light and string of smaller less bright all tracking in same direction looked like was breaking up somewhere between venus and moon small but quite bright yes was at well lit junction with limited view of the sky the overall track could have been more than the few seconds that it was visbile - Amazing I saw something similar at 9years old that left a life long intrest in astronomy

12/1/2012 Phil Rudd Popham, Hampshire, UK 18:30 GMT ish 1 sec Facing SW, from overhead to SW Light coloured tail then big flash Flash like big firework None seen Never seen anything like it; must be what a fireball is. Lucky I saw it as in car on M3 southbound.

12/1/2012 Martin Newark, Notts, UK 18.17 3 seconds maximum Straight down North to South Verticle Green turning Orange fuzzy brighter than any star, tangible width, 4 times Venus easy looked fuzzy, no fragmentation biggest I have ever seen by a long way, observed looking south appeared to be heading straight downwards. Really significant sighting, glad I was sober.

12/1/2012 Ashton Smith Gloucester, Kingsway, UK 18:05:00 About 5-7 seconds North, then down What i saw was a bright green object which flickered several times between the colours green and orange then after 3 seconds it turned completely bright orange/yellow and disappeared Wasnt as bright as the sun but was more visible than the moon on a good night and definitely more brighter than Venus!! Nope the closest thing to that was that it was flickering It was amazing! By far the coolest thing ive seen in a while! I would like to know more about it if anybody reads this. At first i thought it was a flare but it definitely wasnt!

12th Jan 2012 Jay A3 south of Tolworth, UK 18:20:00 3 seconds NNE-SSW Bright white trail end with amber/red "pop" Brighter than Stars, was in a well lit area. None seen Single trail of bright light which ended in an explosive pop before extinguishing.

12JAN2012 Glenno North London/Caledonian Road, UK 18:20ish 2ish seconds looking south, left to right i saw streak of green then red.. then almost a pop as it dissapeared quite bright.. a green venus cant say i noticed any almost a pop or a puff when it disapeared

12JAN2012 Kayleigh Ingram Reading, England 18:15ish about 3 seconds left to right diagonal downwards white then green, then appeared to fizzle out moon - white-ish yellow, then green not that i could see wondered if i was losing my mind! but others saw it too. It was amazing!

12JAN2012 Eray Sevenoaks M25 motorway, UK 18:15:00 2-4 secs north to south Green Tail Red/Orange flash when disappeared Venus/Like fireworks no Amazing at first i was like that firework appeared out of the sky then i acknowledged its travelling sideways like across the sky, then i was like woah its gonna hit earth what do i do lol. amazing

12JAN2012 Paul Gent Caerwent, GWENT WALES, UK 18:15PM GMT 2-5 seconds. Happened very quickly. A streak then it appeared to explode. I was travelling East so it appeared N-S or Right to left outside my lefet hand drivers window Yellow streak and flash of orange orange. Seemed very close then normal shooting stars I have seen. Seemed close to the earth. Same as the sun or when a firework explodes. Could not tell as I was travelling in the car and it was dark. n/a

12Jan2012 Sarah Crompton Near Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK 18.12 (GMT) 5 seconds (maybe) Left to right Large white glow with trail shooting at approx 45 degrees through the night sky (thought it was a large shooting star) but then it grew larger and glowed bright green with a long trail; it then grew smaller and disappeared before reaching the horizon Brighter than venus, looked very close adn spectacular Couldn't see that detail I was travelling down the A43 towards the junction 10 of the M40, this appeared in the sky directly in front of me quite low down and looked liek it was heading towards Oxford.

12JAN2012 S Riches Wimpole, Cambridgeshire, uk 18.20 gmt 3 sec E straight down White turning green finally red Bright Mainly one big bit, a few small sparks Most impressive I have seen in 46 yrs.

12JAN2012 rosemarie rees Neath,West glamorgan,Wales,U.K 18.00h approx about 3 seconds N-S long stick of silvery bluish light quite solid looking in the centre with powdery dusty looking surround venus seemed to be dusty it was very fast
