The phone camera video is obviously not great, but whatever this was was descending slowly -- too slow to be a firework or anything like that. Some sort of burning space junk / meteor? For all I know it wasn't "over Chicago" but was just visible East of Chicago - hard to gauge distance, etc, obviously.
