Report from Reader of Meteor/Meteorite News:
West Palm Beach, FL 10:40am EST 4DEC2010
J.Frye, Lake Worth, FLGuest550 (guest) wrote: I saw something that looked like a meteor in the SE sky on Dec 4, 2010 at about 10:40am. Has anyone reported it yet? There was a short trail of vapor or fire behind it and it was falling in the SE sky for about five minutes. As it fell the trail behind it became smaller and smaller. It finally disappeared as a small white spot. There were no clouds in the sky and it was clearly visable with the naked eye. It appeared suddenly very high in the sky.It was falling SE to the east toward Miami. I dont know any other way to explain it. Sorry, SE to South. it was round and bright at the front and the trail behind it was short and begen to get shorter as it got closer to the horizon.  the whole sighting lasted about 3 to 5 minutes. were there any satelites returning from orbit at that time? an aircraft? falling vertically?
reply by LunarMeteorite*Hunter: If the event lasted 3-5 MINUTES? it was most very likely not a meteor... the typical meteor lasts under 10 seconds.

The AMS meteor reports are here but will not be posted for 4-5 days or so after the event: http://www.amsmeteors.org/fireball2/public.php?start_date=2010-01-01&end_date=2010-12-31
