People across Queensland stopped and caught a glimpse of a bright light moving across the sky last night.

15MAY2014 Andrew Brown Jensen 18:50 Brisbane Australia Time Just seconds, very quick. Australia Bright green colour then big flash Brighter than the moon as it is tonight One main piece and smaller pieces Travelling from South South East of Stocklands Townsville to South West over the Dam

15MAY2014 Wade Stephenson Blackwater Qld Australia 18:50pm est 5sec west maybe north west. seemed to fall towards the ground started as white then looked green with a bit of orange then when it went out of view below the tree line there was a massive blue flash that lit up the sky for a split second. didnt hear anything blueflash lit up like a welding flash or very large lightning strike not too sure. was heading west from blackwater observed what looked like a firework that hadnt gone off or a flare falling from the sky.it looked like it was very very close then when it went out of view below the tree line their was a massive very bright blue flash that seemed to light up the sky for a split second

15MAY2014 Matthew Manser Townsville, Qld, Australia 18.52 +10 1sec Australia Saw a green tail with red ball Same colour as the green traffic signal light no fragments soon after it moved out of sight I saw a flash of light

15MAY2014 Graeme cross Townsville, Queensland, Australia 1850 aest pm 3 seconds I was facing south west it came in at 45 degrees left to right I saw a huge blue glowing ball with a tail and a big orange glow after it passed behind hills as if it had crashed very bright like magnesium burning no it appeared it crashed to earth sw of townsville

15MAY2014 kim Vuga Townsville, Queensland, Australia 18:30:00 Just caught my eye for 4 seconds west seen huge fireball large tail like the one in Russia seemed to have impacted the earth lit up the sky a 2nd time when hit like an atomic bomb effect. white orange and huge ball on fire had lage tail of fire many people in Townsville witnessed the same I believe it came down in Kelso to the right of Ross River Dam

Initial Meteor Sighting Reports-
23MAY2013 ANDREW sunshine coast queensland AUSTRALIA 19.35 AUST EST 2 to 3 seconds realisticly facing NW came from SE heading NW appeared 1 oclock in the sky and everything disappeared at about 10 oclock in the sky greens and blues then orange and a faint but noticable boom about a minute later very bright , moon nearly full in eastern sky yes about 4 or 5 larger chunks as well as what looked like the usual 'sparks but only in the last 1 second no just the first time of hereing a boom , this one was very large and i have witnessed many large ones ,a couple at day ,but this one is definatey the best and biggest

23MAY2013 luke k moggil, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia approximate 19:30hrs 3 sec E-W, right to left, facing north blue trails following scattering chucks, then orange flame explosion bright as venus yes multiple trailing looked pretty amazing, very short lived but colourful explosion

23MAY2013 Corbet TAMBORINE,QLD,AUSTRALIA 27.9°S, 153.1°E 1935 GMT+10 (AUST EST) 2 - 3 seconds starting about 45 deg above north horizon, travelling to the north white very bright but not as bright as the nearly full moon single fireball with a tail nil

Initial Reports:

21NOV2012 Jeff Redlynch, Cairns, QLD, Australia approx 2300 GMT+10 approx 3-4 seconds Looking South, meteor travelled in a SW direction Very bright green, lit up the sky with green light, central yellow/orange flame much brighter than the moon fragmented as it travelled across the sky, bits streaking and broke up into 2 or 3 large pieces before disappearing At first I thought it was someone letting off a boat flare, but it couldn't be as it was far too high and over land.  Amazingly vivid green light lit up the whole sky to the South, with an orange flaming centre

21NOV2012 David Vincent, Townsville Qld 22:52:00 Just seen lasted for aprox 3 seconds Was facing North traveled from right to left Bright white then a bright green Very bright seen through tinted windows Yes No camera but was very low in the sky

21NOV2012 Benjamin Barbi Ingham, QLD, 4850 22:45 GMT +10 30 sec? went behind trees Right to left facing North Green/Blue flash lit up the sky like day. orangeish head with blue tail Flash was like daylight cant recall seen the flash and the meteor pass westerly in a downwards motion. about 5 minutes later was a loud boom that shook my house.

21NOV2012 Linda Townsville, Qld, Australia 20:46 GMT +1000 5 sec Start: North Travelling North West Large Red Flash,  With a red dotted tail(no sound) Sun The red tail looked like it was bouncing (like dash space dash space) There was a large red flash followed by a red line (like a series of dashes before I lost sight of it behind a cloud.

29AUG2012 Ann Tanner and Alfie coghill Brisbane Queensland 8.15pm less than 5 seconds facing North NorEast bright white  ball of fire brighter than the moon large round white ball of fire dropped at speed from sky Biggest shooting star I've ever seen!

29AUG2012 jak Yeppoon  Capricorn Coast Queensland  Australia 20.20pm/aest 4 seconds then went behind mountain NW i was facing west very bright green ..and an orange tail at the end as bright as a weld flash solid ..clean line amazing

29AUG2012 Michael Klazema & Lisa Eroshkin Mackay, Queensland, Australia 20:15EST 3-4 sec NE-SW White fireball with a short white tail with debris of green and orange bits falling off Very large bright star Yes On its travel a short distance from the horizon there appeared  to be a short  break in the light but reappeared instantaneously before fading out on the horizon
