Initial Meteor Sighting Reports-
21SEP2013 Cathy Walsh Edmonton, AB, Canada 2238 MST 4 sec NW TO N Yellow, Green Moonish Tail What a nice surprise!

21SEP2013 Stacie Brayton Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 22:38:00 6 sec NW-NE Green Moon Had long tail Was too quick, very bright, long yellow/orange tail.

21SEP2013 DAN H FT McMurray, Alberta, Canada 10PM Mountain 5-7 seconds S-N Bright Yellow Fireball sunlike brightness None apparent Witnessed by 4 individuals

21SEP2013 Paul Phillips Keg River, Alberta, Canada 10-15 kms South of Keg River intersection on Mackenzie Highway 2240MST Was driving. 4 seconds from daylight effect to viewing fireball heading into the horizon east Was a full moon, noticed sky turn as bright as day, couldn't figure out light source until I looked left and saw the fireball ~1000 ft off the ground heading East Brighter than the full moon. No fragmentation, but clearly visible vapour trail which crested 4-5 smoke puffs along routed for the 1.5 seconds I actually viewed the fireball. Was driving at night in a remote section of Canada just south of the NWT/AB border. When the sky lit up I couldn't identify what was lighting up the sky for about a second. When I looked left I could see the fireball with visible flames licking around it less than 1000 feet off the ground. Unfortunately I was driving and only witnessed its path for less than 2 seconds. Stereo was cranked so I heard no sound. What surprised me was that I didn't see it coming from the other side but it passed almost directly over the car. It's movement when I could actually see it was surprisingly slow, so close to the ground. I almost expected to see a large flash as I predicted it would impact very soon, but no such luck. Seeing this phenomenon in such a remote place, along at night really freaked me out. Stereo was turned off for the next hour as I scanned the sky for more potential targets...ha ha.

Easily the brightest, largest meteor I have ever seen, and went green to orange over about 7-10 seconds in the sky, north from my vantage point near Hines Creek, Alberta
