I think this was a meteor anyway. I don't know much about them but it was so different I had to check this out.

Yeah i saw the same thing and watched it brake up! I would say it was a meteor alright, judging on videos iv seen of other meteors on the internet! But iv never seen one like it before with my own eyes!
Seen a large meteor at 23:08 heading west to east. It skimmed the atmosphere for a good 2 minutes but it looked luke it didnt break through. I have noticed increased meteor activity in the last two weeks
