New Hampshire/Maine Meteor 6:30 am 17JAN2011
Jan 18 2011, 11:05 AM Kate Waring Wescott: My husband saw a meteor this morning (Jan 17) at 6:30 am in Milford,NH. It appeared suddenly in the sky, about the size of a dime with flames trailing, then disappeared in the horizon. His first reaction was to look around to see if anyone else saw it but there were no cars in front or behind him. He tried to rationalize the sighting but determined it was too early for kids shooting off fireworks. Did anyone else see this?
Yes this meteor was reported to the AMS. It was also seen in Maine at 6:30 am.
Jan 14 2011, 8:50 AM Guest730 (guest): I was looking west in Mobile and saw the meteor come down in front of me from north to south but but at a very steep angle (almost 90 degrees)about 9 pm tuesday.Wouldn't the FAA have a radar track and be able to tell where it came down?
