Direction of movement: east to west
Brightness (Venus, Moon, Sun) Moon
Duration of event (seconds) color, sounds? 15-18 seconds orange ball followed by a bright red flame tail with no sound we could hear
Photos? Videos? nope – caught us off guard as we were talking on the back porch when it appeared and struck out across the sky, we raised from our chair and watched the object stream across the sky and then poof.  -KERRI Y.

I can verify this sighting. Myself and a friend were outside and saw this object as described above. I can add to the description by saying that the object broke apart into three to five pieces about ten seconds after it appeared. My vantage point was from Azle.

I can also verify this sighting, from a campground outside of Moses Lake, Washington state. Very long duration - long enough for a friend to see it, bring it to my attention, for me to say "wow" and bring it to the attention of another friend. Maybe 8 or 10 seconds. It was bright, had a long smoke trail, and broke apart into several pieces over the horizon as mentioned by the previous commenter.
