Nice work ! Several witnesses in south of France on 18 february 2011 18:45. axe North-Est to South-West from cities of: Perpignan, Le Boulou, Carcassonne, Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque, Vinça (helicoptere pilot). The meteor was GREEN with white short tray on back, yellow light on front (like fire) and fragmentation above Spain. I'm surprised by the difference of time (18:23 in Italy / 18h45 in France). I have a question ?
How do you know where the fireball is going to land ?

Olivia, Thank you for your question. To determine the fall location we use triangulation. Here are some links for you:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangulation

http://ares.jsc.nasa.gov/education/activities/expmetmys/Lesson2.pdf

http://education.down2earth.eu/files/olivia/falling%20meteorites%20teacher.pdf

There are other factors beyond triangulation such as velocity, atmospheric conditions, detonation, dark flight, and etc.
