I just had to post, I was driving home and just had to call my son and tell him. He researched it and found out that what I most likely saw was a meteor. I've seen shooting stars before but nothing like this. I was returning from getting supper from town when I saw it cross in front of my path. I was heading East on my road when it crossed in front. It came from the North and went towards the South. It was so big that I actually couldn't wait till I got in view of an open field to see if there was any damage. VERY COOL!

Never seen anything like it before :-)
